Methodology
Seven dimensions of future readiness.
Every edition is scored on the same seven dimensions. For the first edition, 139 U.S. health systems were studied and 50 institutions recognized.
- 1
Engagement
How leaders and teams stay connected to customers, clinicians and the people they serve.
- 2
Learning
How quickly the organization turns new information into changed practice.
- 3
People
How roles, skills and succession are built for work that does not exist yet.
- 4
Culture
How much permission the organization gives its people to question the status quo.
- 5
Collaboration
How well internal teams, partners and ecosystems work across boundaries.
- 6
Innovation
How ideas move from experiment to funded, scaled programs.
- 7
Execution
Whether change is delivered, measured and sustained over time.
Independence
Inclusion cannot be purchased.
Sponsors and partner organizations have no role in selecting, scoring or naming honorees in any edition. Honorees receive no payment.
Nominations are reviewed against the same research for every organization and person on a list, using public information, submitted materials and expert input.
